Let's get the big number out of the way first: this Outback has 164,282 miles on it.
That works out to about 12,637 a year over thirteen years, which is highway math more than hard-use math — school runs in Round Rock, a job site across town, the long stretch down to the coast. It's priced at $8,264 because of that odometer, not in spite of it.
The 2.5i Limited badge means this one left the factory near the top of the range. Per Subaru's own 2013 press materials, the Limited adds the Lineartronic CVT, perforated leather, dual-zone automatic climate control, the display-type harman/kardon premium audio with satellite radio, rear A/C ducts, electro-luminescent gauges and a 4-way power front passenger seat, alongside the 8-way power driver's seat. The IIHS gave the 2013 Outback wagon its Top Safety Pick+ award for models built after August 2012. Automotive Addicts, reviewing this same trim, called it "an attractive buy for those who want to explore trails, have some extra cash in the wallet and travel in comfort on the highway," while naming the CVT the car's weakest link.
